Hi Tommy,
Enjoyed doing and (even better)finishing your crossword this morning. Your clues read very well and liked so many of them but have to say coming from a teacher 'bloody past-pupil' is brilliant! Wonder will I manage to break your ro15w record tomorrow? Fingers crossed.

Hi Tommy,

Great puzzle ... Crosaire written all over it. The Saturday theme was particularly nice, I thought, with four great clues. I missed my tomtara by one letter. I got lost looking for BOLD (silly me, really), and had a wild shot with HOLD. I got down to that last clue in one mug of Barry's finest though, which isn't a bad pace.

Notes along the way:
HEBE: A lucky guess for me!
BONSOI: Nice would/wood in a short, pithy clue.
OLD BOY: As always, a well-spotted anagram.
GET: Great clue, classic structure.
TUSSOCK: Also classic, and TUSSOCK is a Crosaire fave.
CARDBOARD CITY: The best of the theme clues, with a lovely anagram.
COMMAND: Nice link with ORDERS.
ACCUSE: The inventive use of "little volume" gets my vote for Clue of the Day.
STY: "Sixty minus nine" ... an A in maths! Brilliant!
BET: Classic Tommy deletion clue.
INEXACT: The anagram of the day!
GINGKO: Lookup of the Day, without a doubt!

Another great puzzle, Tommy. Thank you!

Hi Tommy, Martina and Bill

Have fallen behind on doing SUNWEB recently so it was good to get back to it today...especially when I can report a clear round!

Really liked the Saturday grid and four outside clues...CARDBOARD CITY held out the longest but was a great clue!

HEBE and PITON were today's lucky guesses for me.

Favourites were BONSAI, OLD BOY, ACCUSE, LIONESS, SOLAR, STY, INEXACT and GINKGO...

Some great anagrams and deletion clues today.

'Twas a TOPPER Tommy!
