Great puzzle, Tommy.

Other than a handful of gimmes, this one fought me the whole way home. I ran into most trouble in the northwest, until I worked out GHOST TOWN, and then the other answers gradually surrendered. The whole thing took me about 25m, just a tad more than a Crosaire.

Notes along the way:
GHOST TOWN: took me ages to work out this was an anagram of "go nth" & "twos"
LEAD: only got this after I worked out your "second best" B from WEMBLEY!
RE(A)GENT: Clue of the Day! Very inventive use of "stand-in" giving a clue that reads, really, really well.
PACKET: Nice retro clue.
DEODORANT: you always spot such lovely anagrams
SQUEALS: tough anagram that is staring you right in the face!
FERTILITY: provided the Lookup of the Day (prolificacy), for me anyway ...
LIMERICK: nice clue for the requisite Irish touch.
SPLURGE: such a lovely word.
NEARED: a gimme, but a very elegant clue.
ABOARD: and again, an elegant gimme.
MARTYR: runner-up for Clue of the Day.

Thanks, Tommy. Glad to see you are finding time to put the occasional puzzle together. I'll mention it on the Crosaire Blog tonight.
