Hi Tommy,

I'm only getting to your Sunday puzzle on Thursday ... it has just been one of those weeks.

This might just be your best puzzle yet, I am thinking. I really enjoyed it, despite having one guess wide of the mark, and one clue unanswered. I had a stab at ISTH for ESTH, which maybe I should have known. I also had nothing for CHAP, and am kicking myself once I saw the answer. A dry CHAP-EAU ... very inventive!

Notes along the way:
CITADEL ... I'm always impressed by your anagrams!
HOPI ... I wonder will many Irish folk get today's Ameri-clue? Nice one!
EAT ... solved it, but must admit I needed your explanation to fully understand it!
PUTSCH ... lovely word.
TEAR GAS ... Another very a propos anagram.
BILLION ... another nice Ameri-clue.
ODDBALL ... one of the last to fill in ... clever.
NAPE ... I had NEAP in here for the longest time.
HADRONS ... and there it is, today's physi-clue!
SLEIGHT OF HAND ... Sadly, Lookup of the Day for me. I always spelled it incorrectly as "SLIGHT"!
NEE ... Clue of the Day!
CATHARI ... Guess of the Day!
LEONINE ... Runner up for Clue of the Day.
BICARC ... and a chemi-clue is always welcome.
EL AL ... now that, that's funny!

Like I said, best yet I think, Tommy. Mucho thankos!
